Stored on your iPhone
Your photos, voice notes, and written entries are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to Before You Forget servers.
You're trusting us with your voice, your stories, and your child's history. Here is how we treat that responsibility.
Most apps treat security as fine print.
We treat it as the whole point.
A memory archive is only worth building if it's still there, private and intact, decades from now.
Your photos, voice notes, and written entries are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to Before You Forget servers.
No feeds, no followers, no discoverable profiles. Nothing you save is published anywhere or visible to anyone else.
Your content belongs to you. We never sell it, use it to build advertising profiles, or use it to train anything.
Because memories live on your device, they benefit from Apple’s built-in security: your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS data protection.
Before You Forget does not yet provide its own cloud sync or backup. If the app is deleted or the device is lost or erased, locally stored memories may not be recoverable, so keep your Apple device backups current.
If you ever have a question about where your data lives or how it is handled, ask us and we will tell you plainly.
Cloud backup and secure synchronization may be introduced in a future version. If that happens, we will clearly explain how it works and ask for your permission before uploading your memories.
